Prince Edward Island

I never start a travel article with the accommodations that I stay in but this time it is different.  The Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada is unique.  I have stayed in suites at the Four Seasons in Hawaii, and beautiful resorts in the Caribbean. I have been housed in 1star to 5 star hotels, but the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown, is distinctive…Not the most glamorous, the largest or the with the most amenities…but something special…

filled with wonderful people. Very upbeat, positive and caring.

So why is the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown different. Well I could say first the location is super, that the majority of the 211 guest rooms offer spectacular harbor views. Moreover, the convenient location provides the perfect setting to enjoy the city's quaint shops, restaurants, theatre, nightlife and Charlottetown's many festivals and events. Now maybe it was because .it is just steps * or a nice wheel around * away from the winding boardwalk and adjacent to the many shops of Peake’s Wharf, including the delicious COWS Ice Cream.

What I have found with my extensive travel as a person who is disabled that the hospitality industry is generally

Maybe because the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown Located in the heart of Olde Charlottetown

Or perhaps it was when you arrive and the cut down at the front entrance is the best I have seen.  It certainly helped when I viewed the eight accessible rooms for persons with disabilities.  Now none had roll- in showers but that was brought to their attention and I am sure we will see that in the near future.  Or was it the disabled lift into the pool, yes hand cranked lift but still a lift…

Again, is it the Home Suites featuring king-size beds, private full baths, fully equipped kitchenettes (including mini fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and all of the necessary utensils).

Yes, the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown is PEI's largest conference hotel with 24,000 Square Feet of obstruction-free function space in 12 rooms; including a 12,000 Square Foot Ballroom.  In addition, exciting plans for expansion.  Now, all the above do add up.  So, what we have here at Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown is a convenient hotel with great views, indoor pool and recreation area, and excellent dining area and bar, meeting rooms, good accessible rooms, plus wonderful accessibility through the hotel.

All this situated on Prince Edward Island one of the most enchanting places, with renown warm water beaches, festivals, children activities, and a real down home warm feeling.

So, really the above should be enough…well there is more to the Delta Prince Edward.  It is the special “it” the special something that you can’t always touch but you can always feel…you can’t always see it but you certainly know when it isn’t there.  It is the attitude of the staff at the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown.  Not only their attitudes towards myself as a person with limited mobility but also I noted with everyone.  Sitting one morning in the lobby, I observed for a couple of hours the comings and goings of staff and guests and the interaction between them all.  It was most amazing to watch.  It was subtle but heart felt.  It was gracious yet friendly….  This is why the Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown is so special.  The staff…all the staff from the bar staff to security from the front desk to housekeeping staff.  Having been a guest for several days, I noticed the staff day in and day out and they were always friendly, always upbeat, and always just kind… what a wonderful hotel to visit.

So, the difference is definitely “the Staff.”  Enjoy Your Stay at Delta Prince Edward when you visit the wonderful Island, Prince Edward Island.
