There is nothing like getting out on the water when you are in Florida, and we did that at Tarpon Springs- on the west coast
of Florida, close to Port Ritchey.
Since 1907, the Aegean Greek immigrants have transformed Tarpon Springs into a Mecca of Greek culture for visitors from all
over the USA. Located in the center of this country's sponge industry, in the virgin gulf waters Tarpon Springs is easily
reached from all major Florida tourist attractions, and accommodations and restaurants are plentiful
The Island Wind Tours boat tour is reasonable and accessible on the lower deck. If you have limited mobility then the ramp
is easy to go up, if you are using a wheelchair or scooter you will need some help getting on, but the “crew”
is so very helpful, assisting with a smile.
The Island Wind vessel is 59 feet long, very stable, with good views for all. The captain knows the water well and his commentary
is both informative and fun.
I find it good for my spirits and soul to get out on the water and see life from a different perspective.
The Island Wind tour captures your heart in the beautiful waters along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The catamaran was
built to provide its passengers with modern amenities, and a casual atmosphere for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Island Wind is a 2 level catamaran, United States Coast Guard inspected, and holds 140 passengers. On board the Island Wind,
you can enjoy a full bar, cold beer, frozen drinks and a variety of snacks.

The Island Wind Tours' hour-long trip cruises from Tarpon Springs' Sponge Docks to Anclote Key. They leave every hour-and-a-half
from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. These cruises may be short in duration, but not on sights. About 80 percent of the time passengers
see dolphins leaping from the water. Sometimes they put on a show - jumping out of the water and spinning.
The Island Wind does it all from Company Outings Meetings (with a view), Retirements Seminars, Fund Raisers, Theme Parties,
Wedding-Receptions, Anniversaries, Birthdays (young and old) Reunions, Social Parties, Cocktail Cruises, and Spectacular Sunset
Cruises
So come and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water on the Island Wind Tour and will not regret it….have some fun.
